The LG 83" OLED EVO AI C6 4K TV is a good fit for a large living room used for films, streaming and gaming. It has self-lit OLED pixels for deep contrast, four HDMI 2.1 inputs and webOS with the main Australian streaming and catch-up apps.
OLED picture
This TV has an OLED panel where each pixel makes its own light, which means it doesn't rely on a backlight and dark areas stay dark next to bright highlights. The panel is paired with Hyper Radiant Colour Tech and Brightness Booster Pro, run by the alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3.
This TV upscales lower-resolution content to 4K Ultra HD, which means older shows and free-to-air TV fill the very large screen more cleanly. Results depend on the source.
Gaming and connections
This TV has four HDMI 2.1 inputs, which means you can plug in a console, a gaming PC and a soundbar without swapping cables.
This TV has a native 120Hz refresh rate and supports VRR with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, which means smoother motion and less tearing and stutter when you're gaming. VRR from 40Hz up to 165Hz needs an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, compatible content and a compatible console or PC graphics card. The 165Hz mode is for PC-connected content.
This TV has eARC, which means you can connect a compatible soundbar or AV receiver with one cable. It also has two USB ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Movies and sound
This TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, which means movies and shows made in these formats have more detail in the bright and dark parts of the picture. Dolby Vision needs Dolby Vision content.
This TV supports Dolby Atmos sound. You need Atmos source content for the full effect. There is also a cinema mode for 24 fps film content.
Smart TV and apps
This TV runs webOS, which means Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Foxtel Now, Kayo, Binge, BritBox, Twitch, YouTube, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, 7Plus, 9Now and TenPlay are all in one place. Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Foxtel Now, Kayo, Binge and BritBox require an additional subscription and internet connection at additional cost.
This TV has Google Gemini built in, plus voice control, which means you can control it with your voice. It supports Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2, which means you can share content from your phone.
This TV has an HD tuner for free-to-air TV and can record or pause live TV to a USB drive. Security updates are provided until 31 December 2030.
